Our hidden secrets

Melbourne is my hometown and I love every nook and cranny of it.

Including the four seasons in one day.

Oh the tucked away hidden gems that even locals forget to revisit, or maybe have never visited.

It was a trip down memory lane reading Tara Whitsed’s piece in Weekend Life, because although I still consider myself local and spend much time there, I was enamoured with a tour of the lanes and arcades a couple of years back.

Everybody should visit the Manchester Unity building, and I loved it so much that I actually went to an open inspection of an internal apartment one day just to be a sticky beak.

The smallest café made me feel guilty for complaining about my lack of kitchen space, and folk need to be aware that gazing at the overwhelming street art may trigger some neck strain.

My only regret?

My tour occurred during Lent, a time when I had foregone the consumption of chocolate.

Was really tricky sitting watching others being over-indulgent.

Then there was my coffee tour through South Melbourne; but that’s another story.

Where do you think a potential Shepparton’s Hidden Secrets Tours could take you?
